Life, lately.

Happy Monday, friends!

I woke up ready to tackle the day. I had some unpacking to do & had to meet the movers to pick up our storage container.

Our Best Travel Items

Happy Hump Day!
Can you believe we're already halfway through the week? My summer break is flying by!

We booked our trip to Europe just in time to ask Jolly old St. Nicholas for some goodies. Luckily, Santa our families fulfilled our wish list and loaded us up with some awesome stuff that made traveling abroad so much easier [and safer]! We narrowed down our favorite and most used items below. Just click the photos to shop!

Travel Diary: Venice, Italy

I'm excited to start sharing our recent trip to Europe. It will take some time, but I don't mind because that just means I get to relive each moment over again. I told myself I wanted to create a diary of this vacation. And while I will create another Chatbook this year, I also want to write things down so I don't forget any moment from our favorite adventure yet!

Outside of the caribbean, I have only traveled within the US. So last November when John and I had the travel bug and we started looking up tickets to Europe, imagine my surprise when we jumped on the opportunity within an hour of our search. Less than $500 roundtrip? Our tickets to San Francisco last year weren't much less than that. So we booked our flights and told ourselves that we'd save over the next 7 months.

I've never been more proud [or relieved] that I stuck to it and saved more than enough for my share of the expenses. I can't even count how many times I've heard, "you're a teacher! How can/did you afford that?" While I think finances are an extremely private matter, I do want to share how I was able to contribute 50% of the cost. But that's a post for a later day- today is all about our time in Venice!

Happy Summer!

Hey, guys! Summer break is in full swing around here, but somehow it has taken me until June 30th to get a blog post written. I was all "I'll be posting every day this summer. I can FINALLY devote the time I want to the blog." Then we took a two-week vacation. Then I was seriously lazy for the first week home. Blah, blah, blah. In the sarcastic words of one of my sweet friends (hi, Paige!), "Oh it's sooo hard being jet-lagged from a Europe trip!" ::insert rolling eye emoji here::

San Francisco: Days 3 - 6

Happy Monday, friends! They sure do sneak up quickly, don't they? But I'm glad you've stopped by -  I'm finishing up our west coast vacation recap today.

After Sonoma, we went back to San Francisco to play tourists for the remainder of our vacation. Looking back, we wish we had spent more time in Sonoma. It was just so beautiful and relaxing. SF was a lot of fun, and the sights were amazing, but it definitely isn't our favorite city that we've visited. Not to discourage anyone from going, because I think everyone should go once, but just trying to keep it real.

I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking.

Sonoma & San Francisco, CA: Day 2

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Did you have a 3-day weekend? If so, I hope it was relaxing and full of joy! Ours was pretty low-key, just the way I like it. On Friday, though, we met some friends for a 40th birthday celebration. [Hi, Jeff & Mel!] You guys will formally meet Jeff next week. He's the man, with the brilliant eye, behind the lens of my blog photos. I can't wait to share his work with you!

San Francisco, CA: Day 1

Anyone else have the travel itch right now? We're at that point where it's two months post-Christmas vacation, but still about a month from spring [break]. All my teacher friends can definitely relate, amiright?

For one of John's Christmas gifts, I made a Chatbook of our first year together. If you've never made one, I highly recommend! It was super easy to create and it's the sweetest little reminder of our adventures. But I wanted to document the little things that the pictures don't tell. Like the reason behind John's our nap is because I made us take a flight before the sunrise. He'll never let me live the early morning flights down. But I'm confident that one day he'll thank me for making the most of our days. ;)

T H I R T Y

So, I entered a new decade...

Hello, old friend...

Happy New Year!

It's been a while since I've written, and oh, this makes my heart so happy.

After I contacted Aubrey to give my blog a facelift, a sad reality slapped me right in the face. I started my first year of teaching and was finishing up my last semester in grad school. Basically, I was in over my head. So, unfortunately, I put this little blog on the back burner while I focused on something that I paid thousands for and something that was paying me thousands.
